In 2025, the global community will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995)

The sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 10 to 21 March 2o25 Representatives of Member States, UN entities and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend.

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (or NGO CSW/NY) is a coalition of civil society organizations and individuals advocating for gender equality and the rights and empowerment of women and girls in all their diversity.

Achieving gender requires more than policy commitments, it requires equitable access to comprehensive health services across a woman's entire life.
This session will explore how gaps in healthcare systems continue to affect women at different stages of life and why addressing these gaps is essential for advancing women's rights, dignity and wellbeing.
From adolescent girls seeking access to HIV and sexually transmitted diseases prevention, to survivors of domestic abuse navigating long term health impacts, to women experiencing menopause, many women encounter barriers that prevent them from accessing the care and information they need.
Strengthening equitable access to prevention tools such as PrEP, alongside integrated healthcare is not simply a single issue intervention, it represents a structural investment in women's health autonomy and long term wellbeing.
This discussion brings together perspectives across generations to highlight the importance of holistic, life course approaches to women's health, ensuring that no stage of a woman's life is overlooked.
WHY THIS CONVERSATION MATTERS
Women's health does not exist in isolated chapters, it is a continuous journey.
Policies and services must recognise the interconnected nature of health, safety and autonomy throughout a woman's life.
By bringing together voices across sectors, this session seeks to highlight solutions that support health equity, dignity and empowerment for women everywhere.
We invite policy makers, advocates, researchers, practitioners and community leaders to join this important dialogue and contribute to shaping more inclusive and responsive health systems for women.
WHAT THE SESSION WILL EXPLORE
This work also connects to the Yummy Meno initiative which explores women's wellbeing and menopause awareness through lived experience, nutrition and culturally informed approaches to health.
